Today’s food system will not sustain
Today’s food system faces critical challenges, being unsustainable, unreliable, and underfunded. Investing in the production and scale-up of meat and dairy alternatives offers the highest CO2 reduction per dollar invested, making the food sector—one of the world’s largest markets—the most impactful area for meaningful change.
Planet and people
Agrifoodtech benefits both the planet and people. While the solutions are already available, impactful change in the future of food depends on investments in scaling and increasing efficiency across the sector. Through industrial innovation, plant-based foods can become competitive with traditional products in taste, price, and convenience, paving the way for wider adoption and lasting impact.
Food security
Strengthening food security is essential, as the current system remains vulnerable to supply chain disruptions in today’s unpredictable global landscape, underscoring the urgent need for innovative solutions to create a more sustainable and resilient food supply. Food security and food safety are high on the political agenda, and policy makers are promoting a shift to a resilient, sustainable and safe food system.
